The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has asserted that there is no evidence of Christian genocide occurring in Nigeria.
The party’s National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, expressed this view on Tuesday while appearing as a guest on Politics Today, a program on Channels Television that was monitored by DAILY POST.
His comments came in response to the designation of Nigeria as a “Country of Particular Concern” over allegations of Christian genocide.
DAILY POST also reported that Trump mentioned the possibility of military action in Nigeria if the Nigerian government “continues to allow the killing of Christians.”
In response to these allegations, the ADC spokesperson stated, “I cannot say there is evidence of genocide, and based on what we have observed, we cannot categorize the situation as genocide.
“The issue is not about how the Americans are framing it. The critical point is that people are being killed in Nigeria, and we have the chance to inform the Americans that there’s no genocide occurring in Nigeria.”
