Jose Mourinho could be sacked as Roma manager if they lose their Serie A clash against Cagliari on Sunday.
The former Manchester United and Chelsea boss is into his third season at Roma.
Mourinho has guided the team to back-to-back sixth-placed finishes in the league as well as a Europa League final and victory in the inaugural Europa Conference League.
However, Roma have won only two of their first seven fixtures and currently sit in 13th position.
According to Correire dello Sport, Roma’s owner Dan Friedkin is ready to sack Mourinho if they are beaten by bottom of the league Cagliari.
It is claimed Friedkin wanted to fire the Portuguese after their 4-1 loss to Genoa last week, but was persuaded to give him more time by sporting director Tiago Pinto.
Since then, Roma have beaten Frosinone 2-0 in the league and Servette 4-0 in the Europa League, but Friedkin is still said to be considering Mourinho’s future.
