MANCHESTER UNITED have reached an agreement with interim boss Michael Carrick to become the club’s permanent manager.

Carrick, 44, returned in January to his old stomping grounds where he thrived as a player and revived United as he led them back to the Champions League after six turbulent months under Ruben Amorim.

The ex-Middlesbrough boss’ work attracted immense public support from players, fans, pundits and fellow Man Utd greats who insisted he deserved the job on a full-time basis.
