Man Utd and Chelsea legend Juan Sabastian Veron to be immortalised as football legend with Golden Foot award

MANCHESTER UNITED and Chelsea legend Juan Sebastian Veron will be immortalised in Monaco after being selected for the Golden Foot Legend Award.

The Argentine, 47, spent six years of his career playing in England, starting off at United following a 2001 move from Lazio.

Veron helped the Red Devils win the Premier League in 2002/03.

He made 82 appearances, scoring 11 and assisting 15 before making a switch to West London-based Chelsea after the title win.

Veron made a great start to life at Stamford Bridge, scoring in the 2-1 win over Liverpool at Anfield.

However, injuries halted his progress and he only turned out 14 times for the Blues.

A two-year loan spell at Inter Milan followed before the legendary midfielder returned to Argentina to play for boyhood club Estudiantes.

Veron was hugely successful in Italy, winning nine major trophies at Parma, Lazio and Inter.

He will be honoured on the Champions Promenade on the promenade of the Principality of Monaco.

His footprint will be placed alongside the likes of Ronaldinho, Diego Maradona, Pele, Roberto Baggio and more icons of the game.
