Brentwood School has introduced these highly sought-after classes as a weekly extracurricular activity for sixth-formers.
The organizer, teacher Dave Wright, notes that the rise of teen star Luke Littler has significantly increased interest in the sport in recent years.
He believes that the sessions teach not only mental arithmetic but also skills in organization, teamwork, balance, and concentration.
He stated: “Darts is incredibly accessible.
“That’s what makes it so attractive.”
“It is hoped that others will follow suit, potentially leading to a league.
A former chairman of the Professional Corporation, whose boxing promoter son Eddie attended the school, has visited to speak with students.
One student, Jensen, 16, expressed: “It’s amazing that we have this opportunity.”
“I began playing darts around 2020. I got my first board and started watching the World Championships on TV while playing with my dad and brother.
“We are fortunate and truly proud to have this opportunity.
“It motivates students to come to school and work hard to earn wonderful rewards like this.”
