The woman, only known as social media user @ soft.life.hard.bu , took to TikTok to share everything she does whilst at Wetherspoons, including charging all of her devices free of charge.

The TikToker, who is “on a mission” to pay off her mortgage “with a frugal living”, admitted that these “” are “diabolical” – but they do help with money.

“It’s a , so we do what we’ve got to do,” the said in the clip which has since sparked criticism.

Fans of Wetherspoons will know that the chain offers free refills on tea and coffee at just £1.81 each or less – but to , the TikToker “will share that between three different people”.

By “taking turns to have a hot drink”, the group saves just under £5.50.

“I also like to get a booth and charge literally all of my devices that I can,” she claimed.

The “cheapskate” continued: “I always make sure when I get a meal that I get the most expensive drink on there as well, which is usually a BrewDog pint.”

In case a pint isn’t enough, the Wetherspoons’ fan treats herself to “a cheaper thing like wine which is about £2”.

The social media user, who also flogs clothing on Vinted and for extra cash, also likes to help herself to bottles of sauces and the free salt, pepper and sachets.

“It all helps to keep the costs down when you need to,” said the thrifty TikToker who said she’s “also taken home the toilet roll”.

“The thing about Wetherspoon is no one gives a s**t. No one cares.

“This is one of my top places for when I’m skint,” she said in the clip, which has racked up close to 30k views in just 12 hours.

But while helping herself to free sachets and sauce might save her money, hundreds of furious viewers criticised the “cheapskate”.

One person thought: “Nicking the bottles of sauce is too far.”

“Taking the big sauce is a bit rude,” someone else agreed.

“If I’m poor the last thing I do is go out for a meal,” another chimed in.

“Sharing a hot drink – man that’s gross,” a fourth commented.

“The sauces & toilet roll is literally THEFT?” a TikToker said.

4 ways to keep your energy bills low

Laura Court-Jones, Small Business Editor at Bionic shared her tips.

1. Turn your heating down by one degree

You probably won’t even notice this tiny temperature difference, but what you will notice is a saving on your energy bills as a result. Just taking your thermostat down a notch is a quick way to start saving fast. This one small action only takes seconds to carry out and could potentially slash your heating bills by £171.70.

2. Switch appliances and lights off

It sounds simple, but fully turning off appliances and lights that are not in use can reduce your energy bills, especially in winter. Turning off lights and appliances when they are not in use, can save you up to £20 a year on your energy bills

3. Install a smart meter

Smart meters are a great way to keep control over your energy use, largely because they allow you to see where and when your gas and electricity is being used.

4. Consider switching energy supplier

No matter how happy you are with your current energy supplier, they may not be providing you with the best deals, especially if you’ve let a fixed-rate contract expire without arranging a new one. If you haven’t browsed any alternative tariffs lately, then you may not be aware that there are better options out there.
