LINE of Duty’s Buckells looked unrecognisable as he revealed his surprising new job away from acting, five years after he was framed as the elusive H.

More than 12million viewers sat down for the 2021 finale of Line Of Duty to learn the identity of H.

However, fans were left wanting more after , was seemingly pinpointed as being the criminal mastermind in the police, .

However, fast forward five years and actor Nigel has revealed he has a surprising new job, which is a world away from acting.

The actor also looks unrecognisable after ditching the short hair and letting his curls grow out.

Nigel showed off his new look, which is a far cry from Buckells, as he revealed his new job.

The TV star announced on that he is now an ambassador for Express Cars,

Nigel is of course best-known for his role in and appeared in the first series of the drama where he was appointed the SIO in the case of Jackie Laverty’s disappearance.

He then returned to play central roles in the fourth and sixth series.

Nigel is also no stranger to playing cops, and has had roles as a policeman in and Home Fires.

It comes after The Sun revealed that over the previous season’s disappointing ending, after Buckells was unmasked as H.

But this is all set to change for the new series.

Season 7 of Line of Duty sees regulars (DI Steve Arnott), (DI Kate Fleming) and (Supt Ted Hastings) resuming their roles.

Other faces that will be on the show include the menacing Chief Constable Philip Osborne, who has been the sworn enemy of DI Arnott since series one launched in 2012 on Two.

The top officer is played by Owen Teale and his return for the new season on BBC One will thrill fans.

But most of all, viewers will be pleased to see that all is not lost when it comes to H, and the search for the crime boss is back on.

A TV insider told us: “There was genuine anger about the way series six ended and that was part of the reason that a seventh outing was ordered.

“But this is the first time that there’s been any news on whether they’ll bring back the ‘H’ storyline — and devotees will be thrilled to hear Jed will be giving them just what they want.

“Although there is still likely to be a new villain introduced into the new season, just as there has been with every series since the show was launched.

“But the incoming baddie’s storyline is likely to be intertwined with that of ‘H’ in a sensational double-whammy.”

The Sun exclusively revealed after the disappointing ending to what was supposed to be the final series in 2021.

It was the most-watched drama episode, excluding soaps, since modern records began in 2002.

But , with one saying: “No one expected Buckells so the wool was pulled over our eyes.

“I just felt it was very rushed and too many unanswered questions still.”

Filming is set to get underway soon, and will likely see Line of Duty back on the box at the end of the year or in 2027.
