LEICESTER CITY issued a heartfelt apology after canceling a cherished Christmas tradition with only a few days' notice, according to reports.
The Championship club typically pays their players and staff at the end of each month.

However, in recent years, they have advanced the payment date in December to before Christmas.
This allowed all employees to receive their salaries either on the last Friday before December 25 or on the final working day prior to the holiday.
This thoughtful gesture enabled staff to have funds in their bank accounts for the festive season.
Yet, the Daily Mail reports that the King Power club sent an email to staff on Thursday, the 18th, indicating that December's pay date would be on New Year’s Eve.
The article notes that there is “significant unhappiness” among staff, particularly regarding the short notice.
The email is believed to have been sent by interim managing director Kamonthip Netthanomsak.
The Mail mentions the email stated: “I recognize that the early payment has become a valued tradition for many colleagues, and it is unfortunate that I have not been able to communicate this with more advance notice to allow for better personal financial planning during the holiday season.
“Please accept my sincere apologies for any inconvenience this may cause you.”
The Foxes informed the Mail that the decision to abandon the festive practice was not related to the club’s financial circumstances.
Leicester faces the possibility of a points deduction if found guilty of violating profit and sustainability regulations.
The East Midlands club has previously avoided penalties by exploiting a loophole, switching between Premier League and EFL regulations due to their promotion and relegation.
A verdict from a crucial court hearing is expected in the coming weeks to determine if they will face repercussions in this season’s campaign.
Currently, Leicester sits eighth under new manager Marti Cifuentes, just three points off the play-offs and 12 points above the relegation zone, following two wins and a draw in their last three matches.
This includes a 3-1 victory over Ipswich last week.
Cifuentes will face his former employers, QPR, on Sunday in Leicester’s final match before Christmas.
Failure to achieve promotion could prolong the club's financial recovery efforts.
