Human rights activist, Deji Adeyanju has claimed that the incessant deadly attacks by terrorists in parts of the country have gone beyond just insecurity.

Adeyanju made the claim while reacting to a report purporting that a Brigadier-General of the Nigerian Army was recently killed by suspected Boko Haram terrorists in Borno State.

There were reports that the army top-ranking officer was murdered in coordinated Boko Haram attacks on four communities in Borno State, Banki Ruwa, Ngamdu, Benisheik and Pulka—bordering Cameroon.

Reacting, Adeyanju, in a post on his X handle, said the security crisis is becoming a national threat.

The lawyer blamed President Bola Tinubu’s government for the deteriorating security crisis, stating that the president is only focused on politics.

He wrote, “Boko Haram has killed a Brigadier General. This is no longer insecurity but a threat to our existence as a nation, yet all the Tinubu government cares about is foisting a one-party state on the country”
