President Recep Erdogan continued his stout criticism of Israel on Friday, vowing that the country will get the consequences of its “killings” across the region.
The Turkish leader lamented the situation in the Middle East, saying, “As is known, Zionist Israel has killed hundreds of thousands of people.”
“God willing, it will pay the price for this. I have no doubt about that,” Erdogan declared during his Eid al-Fitr message to citizens.
Erdogan said Benjamin Netanyahu’s actions “threaten regional and global peace,” expressing his belief that Muslims “will overcome the difficult days.”
On Thursday, the Israeli Prime Minister defended the strikes in Iran, saying the joint action alongside the United States was to protect the Middle East and the entire world.
Netanyahu said despite “the fake news” being spread since the start of the war, Iran’s missile and drone arsenal is being massively degraded and will be destroyed.
He noted that hundreds of launchers have been destroyed, while nuclear infrastructure, stockpiles of missiles, and the industries that produce them remain under shelling.
Israel carried out overnight strikes on targets in southern Syria. Defense Minister Israel Katz has vowed protection for Druze people [primarily located in Lebanon, Syria] amid the fighting against Iran and Hezbollah.
On Friday, Russia summoned Israel’s Ambassador Oded Joseph after an Israeli strike in southern Lebanon injured an RT news crew. Moscow called the attack deliberate and a blatant violation of international law.
Speaking on escalating tensions, Syrian President Ahmad al-Sharaa described current developments as “a major and rare event in history” that has not been witnessed since World War II.
Al-Sharaa said his government was carefully calculating its steps and working to keep Syria away from any conflict, so that it can maintain its path of development and reconstruction.
