Workers’ Day: Your sweat will not go in vain – Gov Namadi promises Jigawa workers

Jigawa State Governor Umar Namadi has saluted all workers in the state for their effective and efficient service delivery, which he described as instrumental to the progress, prosperity, and development of the state.

He made the remarks while addressing workers during the May Day celebration held at the Mallam Aminu Kano Triangle in Dutse.

Governor Namadi commended the resilience of Jigawa’s workforce, describing the workers as the catalyst for development and progress.

According to him, “Workers across all sectors truly serve as the engine that provides the driving force propelling societies towards progress and development. I truly commend and salute you. More grease to your elbows.

“You may not be enjoying the sweat of your labour 100 per cent, but I assure you, your sweat will not go in vain. While we will continue to do our best, we also urge you to remain resolute, patient and committed to the discharge of your assigned duties and responsibilities.”;

“Doing your best to contribute to effective and efficient service delivery and to the long-term progress, prosperity and development of our state is service to humanity, which Allah, in His infinite mercy, wisdom and benevolence, will reward you most abundantly.”;

He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to workers’ welfare, highlighting landmark achievements such as the implementation of a N70,000 minimum wage, construction of affordable housing for civil servants, and the injection of over N7 billion into the state’s contributory pension scheme.

The state NLC chairman, Sunusi Alhassan Maigatari, commended Governor Umar Namadi for the giant strides, describing him as “both labour-friendly and a governor of the people.”;

He urged workers to reciprocate the gesture by dedicating themselves to selfless service for the development of the state.
