President Trump on Thursday signed an executive order, stopping funding to Public Broadcasting Service, PBS, and National Public Radio, NPR.
The development followed allegations by Trump’s administration that the broadcasters engage in “bias”; reporting.
In the order, President Trump instructed the Corporation for Public Broadcasting and other federal agencies “to cease Federal funding for NPR and PBS”;.
The order further requires that agencies work to root out indirect sources of public funding for the news organizations.
A post shared by the White House on X while announcing the signing, alleged that the outlets “receive millions from taxpayers to spread radical, woke propaganda disguised as ‘news.'”;
DAILY POST reports that President Trump had while addressing reporters last month, hunted that he “would love to”; cut funding to NPR and PBS.
The broadcasters, according to reports, get roughly half-a-billion dollars in public financing through the Corporation for Public Broadcasting.
