The stage is set for Nigeria’s 2025 U-20 Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON, quarter-final tie with Senegal.

The match will take place at the Suez Canal Stadium in Ismailia on Monday afternoon.

Nigeria and Senegal have met previously in the tournament in the past.

In 2015, the Flying Eagles defeated Senegal 3-1 in the group stage.

They later defeated them again 1-0 in the final to win the competition.

In 2023, Senegal triumphed over Nigeria 1-0 in their opening match.

In the ongoing U-20 AFCON tournament in Egypt, Nigeria finished in second position in Group B behind leaders Morocco.

Senegal, on the other hand, also finished in second position in Group C behind leaders Ghana.

The winner between Nigeria and Senegal will get automatic qualification for the World Cup and will progress to the semi-final stage which will take place on Thursday.

Senegal are the defending champions in the competition and have won the competition just once.

Nigeria, meanwhile, have won it seven times in the past.

The kick-off time for Nigeria vs Senegal is 1 pm.
