NNL: Sokoto United coach Ajeni hopeful of Super Eight playoff ticket

Sokoto United head coach, Peter Ajeni has said that the win over Gombe United has boosted his team’s chances of qualifying for the Nigeria National League (NNL) Super Eight playoff.

The hosts defeated Gombe United by a lone goal at the Giginya Memorial Stadium on Saturday.

He expressed satisfaction with the overall performance of his players.

“I want to thank Almighty God for this important win,”;; Ajeni told Sokoto United’s media.

“This was a must-win for us to stay clear of the relegation zone, and the boys delivered.

“Now we’re back in third place and keeping our Super 8 hopes alive, that’s our ticket to the Nigeria Premier League!”;;
