LaLiga: Xabi Alonso ready to sign Super Eagles striker for Real Madrid

Published on May 07, 2025 at 09:14 AM

Bayer Leverkusen manager, Xabi Alonso, is believed to be drawing up a transfer wishlist as he prepares to join Real Madrid this summer.

Alonso has included Super Eagles striker, Victor Boniface, among his possible targets.

The former Spain midfielder is widely tipped to succeed Carlo Ancelotti at the Bernabeu next season.

And if he gets the job, Alonso wants to reinforce Madrid’s forward line with a powerful No.9.

According to Telemadrid via Fichajes, he has recommended two strikers from his current Leverkusen squad.

They are 24-year-old Boniface and 29-year-old Czech international Patrik Schick. Another target is Sporting CP’s Viktor Gyökeres, though his €75m release clause might prove to be a significant financial hurdle.

Boniface, who has scored 11 goals across all competitions this season despite injury setbacks, continues to attract growing interest.

Juventus are also believed to be monitoring his future at the Bundesliga club.
