Former Anambra State governor, Peter Obi has been urged to join State governors from the Southeast to work with President Bola Tinubu.

The Minister of Works, Dave Umahi, said the Southeast is witnessing tremendous infrastructural improvement under Tinubu’s administration.

He said plans are underway to get all political stakeholders in the Southeast to endorse Tinubu.

The Minister made this known in a feature interview for an upcoming State House documentary to celebrate Tinubu’s second anniversary.

Umahi also maintained that the Southeast is happy with the president’s performance in the region.

He said there is a new wave of infrastructural development across the Southeast since Tinubu assumed office as president.

According to Umahi: “All the governors in the South East, regardless of party affiliation, are working with the President.

“We’re even planning a summit to bring together all southeast leaders to endorse the President for the 2027 elections formally.

The Minister noted that Tinubu is an epitome of the fairness Igbos have been advocating for.

He said: “I call on my brother, His Excellency Peter Obi, to join us and work with Mr. President.

“He must be part of this summit where we will collectively endorse President Tinubu for the 2027 election. I say it boldly: the South East is happy with the President.”;;

Under Tinubu, the Southeast has produced some ministers while several projects are ongoing across the region.

Currently ongoing is the Port Harcourt to Enugu, Enugu to Abakaliki, Enugu to Onitsha, Onitsha to Owerri highway.

Tinubu’s administration has been tackling the issue of insecurity through various security agencies since he became president.

Insecurity in the Southeast was inflamed following the detention of Biafra activist, Nnamdi Kanu for alleged terrorism.

Security agencies had subdued the activities of unknown gunmen wrecking havoc in the region.
