Europa League: Man Utd to play Tottenham in final

Published on May 08, 2025 at 09:13 PM

Manchester United will take on Tottenham Hotspur in the Europa League final.

The Red Devils have qualified after coming from behind to defeat Athletic Bilbao 4-1 on Thursday night.

Ruben Amorim’s side came into the tie with a 3-0 lead from the first leg in Spain.

But it was the LaLiga side who stunned Old Trafford with the opening goal in the first half, after Mikel Jauregizar beat Andre Onana from distance with a stunning effort.

Mason Mount came off the bench to curl home a glorious equalizer for the hosts, before Casemiro’s looping header and Rasmus Hojlund’s close-range finish sealed the victory.

In the other semi-final tie, Tottenham beat Bodo/Glimt 2-0 in Norway.

Ange Postecoglou’s men had won the first leg 3-1 in North London.

The Europa League final is scheduled for May 21 at San Mames.
