The Lagos State Environmental and Special Offences Taskforce has apprehended 41 individuals during a coordinated security operation across key parts of the Island in the early hours of Tuesday.

In a statement issued by the agency’s Director of Public Affairs, Gbadeyan Abdulraheem, the enforcement exercise commenced at approximately 1:00 a.m. and focused on identified criminal hotspots, including Ikoyi, Victoria Island, Falomo, Osborne Road, the Eko Hotel axis, Lekki Road, and Obalende.

The crackdown forms part of a broader state-wide initiative by the Lagos State Government to curb street-level crime and restore public order.

It specifically targets miscreants, street urchins, hooligans, pickpockets, and other suspected criminal elements whose activities pose a threat to residents and commuters.

Authorities reiterated their commitment to sustaining such proactive enforcement efforts to ensure a safer and more secure Lagos.

“During the exercise, 41 suspects were arrested and sanity was restored,”;; the statement noted.
