Ancelotti to become highest-paid international coach after Real Madrid exit

Published on May 14, 2025 at 05:08 AM

Real Madrid manager, Carlo Ancelotti, is set to become the highest-paid international manager after agreeing a big contract with Brazil.

The Italian coach will depart the Bernabeu at the end of this season.

Ancelotti will take over the Selecao at the end of May, with the aim of leading the South American giants to the 2026 World Cup.

According to The Telegraph, the 65-year-old will earn £8 million ($11m) per year.

The salary is more than any other coach at international level.

Ancelotti leaves Madrid following a disappointing season that will likely end without a trophy.

Last weekend’s 4-3 defeat to Barcelona leaves Los Blancos seven points behind their eternal rivals in La Liga with three games to go.

Brazil, meanwhile, are fourth in World Cup qualifying after 14 matches, trailing leaders Argentina by 10 points.
