EPL: Nicolas Jackson refuses to apologize to Chelsea team-mates over red card

Published on May 13, 2025 at 07:33 PM

Chelsea striker, Nicolas Jackson, did not apologize to his team mates over his red card against Newcastle United on Sunday.

Jackson was sent off in the first half of their 2-0 defeat at St James’ Park following a VAR review.

The Senegal international was given his marching orders for elbowing Sven Botman and will now serve a three-game suspension.

But Jackson feels there is no need to apologise to the rest of the squad.

Chelsea will take no disciplinary action against the 23-year-old as the club have accepted that such incidents are inevitable, The Sun reports.

Jackson instead hopes to make up for it by scoring in the Conference League final.

Chelsea face United on Friday before finishing their Premier League campaign with a trip to Forest.

On May 28, Jackson will make his return when they face Real Betis in the Conference League final.
