THE owners of a seaside hotel where a ten-year-old boy was electrocuted in the lobby have been fined £120,000.
Jack Piper-Sheach was killed during the horror at Tiffany’s Hotel in Blackpool in September 2023.

The schoolboy sadly died in hospital four days after he was found unresponsive in the lobby.
Y7 Hotels Ltd admitted two offences contrary to the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 after Blackpool Council took the firm to court.
The owners have now been handed a £120,000 fine, as well as £24,000 costs to the council.
None of the charges relate to Jack’s death and a Lancashire Police investigation found no criminal case to answer.
Blackpool Council said its inspectors found the company had undertaken electrical inspections as required by law.
But essential works to correct dangerous electrical installations were not undertaken by a competent, qualified electrician.
No work carried out was documented or certified, the court was told.
In 2020, an electrical installation condition report (EICR) from 2020 documented issues that posed a danger to guests and employees of the hotel.
Following this stage of the investigation, the director of Tiffany Hotel agreed to voluntarily cease trading.
The Health and Safety Executive later found the electrical installation was not maintained in a satisfactory condition.
An Improvement Notice was served and in November 2023, a satisfactory EICR was provided and the hotel was allowed to re-open.
Councillor Dave Flanagan said: “This is a tragic case and throughout our investigation our thoughts have always been, and continue be with, the family, friends and loved ones of Jack Piper-Sheach.”
The tragedy unfolded at Tiffany’s Hotel where Jack had been staying with his family.
A provisional cause of death was given as an “electrocution injury that caused cardiac arrest and then a lack of oxygen to the brain”.
A family source said previously: “It was awful what happened to Jack.
“It’s absolutely tragic and everyone is devastated but we can’t talk about it publicly because of the ongoing investigation.’
