The stars of Gogglebox are usually banned from boozing while filming.

But Happy Mondays legend has admitted he’s nearly always sozzled on the celebrity version of the series.

Speaking backstage at the Electric Heart Festival, Bez said: “You can only do that show when you’re drunk.

“So they get you a bottle of Jameson Irish Whiskey, and they always get us .

“But we’ve been drinking their lagers recently, too.

“It’s a piece of p*ss. We love it. You get paid for having a good laugh and getting p***ed with your mate watching the TV shows.”

Despite being a regular on the show for years, Bez said he’s never once seen an episode.

He added: “I’ve never watched the show.

“I never watch myself on the telly because I’m always flabbergasted about how stupid I sound.

“I sound thick as f***, you know what I mean? It does my f***ing nut in and I would rather not hear it.”

Rush into the Sphere in Vegas

Rush are the next big band being lined up for a residency at The Sphere in .

Insiders said the veteran rockers were keen to bring their progressive sound to the Sin City venue as “they look for a new challenge”.

The Canadian group would be following in the footsteps of and No Doubt if they land the contract.

A source said: “The Sphere has become the premium entertainment spot in Vegas.

“All the acts who have performed there have been at capacity for every show because audiences love the audio visual experience.

“The plan now is to map out a moving roster of acts who can come in and out for the next five years.

“Rush has an enormous audience across North America. Even though they are Canadian, their music and success has been huge in the US. Their hits, history and live performances make them an attractive proposition.

“Talks have been secretly going for now for a while, but the word is that contracts could be locked down in the next couple of weeks.”

and Metallica both have residencies booked in at the venue later this year and into 2027.
