The Sun can exclusively reveal how a trusted insider has told us “the format has completely shifted because the old way just doesn’t work anymore”.
The major changes come hot on the heels of ‘s series finale being in a major editing blunder.
Now a source has told us there’s more tweaks to come for the long-running programme, which has notched up 26 series and many loyal viewers.
They told The Sun: “Everyone involved knows something has to change if it’s going to survive.
It’s no longer the chaotic, all-in-one villa setup it used to be, the format has completely shifted because the old way just doesn’t work anymore.
“Everyone’s older now, they’ve got kids, relationships and responsibilities, so getting the whole cast in one place for weeks at a time just isn’t realistic.
“Instead of one long shoot, filming is now being broken up into shorter bursts across the year, a few days here, a few days there, starting as early as in April.
“The big holiday villa and fixed-rig setup has been scrapped, it’s moving towards a more flexible, fly-on-the-wall style that follows the much loved cast in their real lives
“The previous set up was also so expensive and they’re just not willing to spend crazy amounts on production anymore.
“It’s less about everyone partying together and more about individual journeys, relationships and what life actually looks like now”.
Paramount+ declined to comment when The Sun reached out to representatives.
These are bound to include the upcoming births of , and after a lengthy fertility struggle.
After and husband Casey Johnson in the last season finale, they are bound to be back for an update on family life.
And with Geordie Shore alum , there is bound to be an update on life for the newlyweds.
Geordie Shore’s Holly Hagan cosmetic surgery history in full
Holly had her first boob job aged 18 at a cost of £4,000, which she paid for on finance.
Less than a year later, she went from an FF cup to a GG cup. She said she “looked at people like ” before committing to the surgery.
In 2014, Holly got lip fillers and Botox which left her with what she called “sausage lips”.
Three years later she – where fat is liposuctioned from another part of the body and injected into the bum.
Just a few months later and dissatisfied with the result, Holly flew to Turkey for a second BBL, which didn’t go to plan.
She paid £5k for the procedure – which costs around £15k in the UK – but said it wasn’t worth it as she was left scared and covered in blood after the operation.
A third BBL happened in January 2017 – meaning she’d had three operations in less than a year – but that “made it worse” and was a “really low time”.
Holly’s final surgery took place in 2019 where she had a boob reduction that took her from an FF cup down to a DD cup.
She has since committed to achieving a more natural and healthier look.
Our source added: “There are still plans to bring them together at points, including a trip abroad to France, but it won’t be the same constant group dynamic.
“Behind the scenes there’s a real feeling this is a final attempt to make the show work before it potentially comes to an end.
“Everyone involved knows it can’t carry on as it was, it either evolves now or risks disappearing completely”.
The most recent series of Geordie Shore dropped on Paramount+ in January with cast members Gary Beadle and Aaron Chalmers returning to the show after quitting previously.
