Emerging from the ruins of a devastated Gaza could be a futuristic smart city with a stunning waterfront, should Trump's ambitious $112 billion plan receive support.
Referred to as “Project Sunrise,” this grand initiative aims to transform war-torn Gaza into an international attraction, featuring luxurious hotels and beach resorts, high-speed rail, and AI-optimized smart grid technologies.

Over the next 20 years, this small stretch of the prized Mediterranean coastline would be transformed into a vibrant metropolis, as reported by the Wall Street Journal.
Conceived by Jared Kushner, the first son-in-law, US special envoy Steve Witkoff, and two senior White House aides, the proposal envisions Gaza as a “smart city” with technology-driven governance and services.
Kushner and Witkoff played crucial roles in securing the initiative in October.
Potential investor nations are being approached with a 32-slide PowerPoint presentation that recognizes the “profound” devastation in Gaza and outlines a four-phase vision to clear the debris, rebuild the area, and lift Gazans out of poverty.
“We believe what lies ahead is not merely restoration — it’s an opportunity to create a gateway of prosperity in the Middle East with state-of-the-art infrastructure, urban design, and technology,” the presentation states.
The slideshow has been shared with wealthy Gulf nations, including Turkey, Qatar, and Egypt, as reported by the Wall Street Journal .
Unexploded ordnance and Hamas tunnels would be removed while temporary shelters and medical facilities are offered to residents of Gaza — although it remains unclear where they would reside during the reconstruction.
Permanent housing, healthcare centers, educational institutions, and places of worship would be established before the construction of extravagant beachfront properties and modern transit hubs.
By the tenth year, it is projected that 70 percent of Gaza’s coastline would be utilized commercially, with the proposal estimating that the Strip could yield over $55 billion in long-term investment returns.
Secretary of State Marco Rubio expressed that the US is “very confident” that funding will be secured for the reconstruction effort.
“You will not persuade anyone to invest in Gaza if they believe another conflict is imminent within the next two or three years,” he stated.
The ravaged city of Rafah would be rebranded as “New Rafah” – portrayed in the slides as Gaza’s administrative center and home to over 500,000 inhabitants.
The proposal was developed over the last 45 days and could commence within two months, contingent upon security conditions.
This is not the first time the devastated Gaza Strip has been envisioned as a capitalist utopia, complete with a towering gilded statue of Trump himself.
Trump previously revealed his unusual AI-generated vision for Gaza, which included casino hotels, massive golden statues of himself, and futuristic skyscrapers earlier this year.
The video, shared on his TruthSocial, also showcased bearded dancers, Elon Musk dancing beneath cash raining from the sky, and the US President next to a scantily clad belly dancer in a bar.
Trump has proposed transforming Gaza into “the Riviera of the Middle East” and has previously shared AI images of his controversial plans for the enclave.
