FIVE people have been injured after a car ploughed into a group of pedestrians in a horror city centre hit-and-run.
Cops rushed to the centre of yesterday after receiving reports a group of pedestrians had been hit by a car.
It is believed up to five people were injured in the collision with three rushed to hospital.
Their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
Cops said the people involved in the horror smash were known to each other.
Officers immediately launched an into the collision.
A short while later cops located a vehicle suspected to be involved in the smash.
Detective Inspector Lisa Jones, of , said: “This is a serious incident which will understandably cause concern.
“Detectives are working at pace and will be using all the investigative tools at our disposal.
“While we believe it to be an isolated incident with no wider risk to the public there will be an increase in patrols in this area throughout today.
“ were at the scene very quickly and I’d also like to thank members of the public who stopped to provide assistance to those injured.
“It is really important anyone with any information, or relevant CCTV, dashcam, doorbell or mobile phone footage, gets in touch without delay.”
Talbot Street remained closed between Wollaton Street and Clarendon Street, for much of yesterday while investigations got underway place.
The is appealing for any witnesses and anyone who may have relevant CCTV or phone footage of the incident to come forward.
