IT WAS once her go-to snack but now the thought of KFC is enough to make Angi Wright shudder.
In fact ditching her favourite fried chicken snack funded £1,000 worth of which saw her shed six stone in under five months.

Angi paid for the jabs using the money she previously spent on , takeaways and workplace vending machines treats like and hot chocolates.
The 59-year-old, who reached her heaviest weight of 16st 3lb and a size 20 earlier this year, admits she relied heavily on convenience food during busy shifts.
She was shocked when her bank’s annual spending breakdown showed she was among the top 5% of KFC customers.
The health care assistant says she had a wake up call at a medical check last year that revealed she was pre-diabetic, had high cholesterol, high blood pressure, a raised heart rate and an .
She ordered her first jab in May and injected 2.4ml and the mum-of-four says she could feel the effects almost immediately.
“I was nearing 60 and knew it was time to take stock,” Angi, from Taunton, Somerset, says.
“I work as a health care assistant in a hospital doing long shifts and mainly nights.
“I didn’t want to see myself in one of those beds.
“My work dress was a size 20 and button up tops were a no-go.”
Angi says she had never struggled with weight until having children but after four pregnancies, the pounds crept on and became increasingly difficult to shift.
She adds: “With each baby I put on weight and struggled to lose it.
“I tried Slimming World and Weightwatchers but they all focused on thinking about food all the time.
“The food noise was always shouting ‘what can I eat?’
“And people said I should eat less and move more.
“I had four kids so I moved a lot.
“As kids, we were always told to eat what was on our plates and our plates were always big.
“As a busy mum I often forgot about myself and would grab and go.
“Bread was and is not my friend.”

Angi says that when her daughter told her about Mounjaro she couldn’t see a reason not to try it.
“I decided to try it for a month and see if it worked,” she says.
“If it didn’t, at least I’d tried.
“The next day, it was almost like someone had switched a switch in my brain.
“My thoughts were not of food and the food noise had gone.”
Angi says she took steps to insure she was still getting all of the nutrients she needed while using the jab.
“Some days I struggled to have enough calories so would take protein shakes to top up the calories,” she says.
“I eat fruit and that’s something I’d never really enjoyed before.
“Now I love and choose fruit over most things.
“That first week was a breeze, I lost 8lb and it spurred me on.”
The jabs cost Angi just under £1,000 which she funded by cutting out takeaways and vending machine snacks at work.
She says: “The price never stopped me.
“I was saving that on takeaways and snacks at work from the vending machine.
“I ordered two takeaways a week that cost around £30.
“Then £10 to £15 a week on snacks from the vending machine.
“Mounjaro works out at £36 a week.
“It’s cost me just under £1,000 in pens over the months but it was so worth it.”
Angi now weighs 10st 4lb, wears size 8 to 10 bottoms and a size 12 top, and says even her feet have shrunk.

She recalls: “By September, I’d lost almost five stone and to date I’ve lost almost six.
“It’s the best thing I’ve done.
“I’m happy at this weight, I still have boobs and not much baggy skin.
“I have skin on my arms but they were like Popeye before.
“I’m now a size 8 to 10 in bottoms and a 12 on top and even my feet have shrunk.”
But Angi says it’s not just her appearance that has had an overhaul.
“I feel fantastic, I have lots of energy and people in work are impressed,” she says.
“I’m always getting questioned about Mounjaro.
“I have a whole new wardrobe of clothes and I managed to sell my old ones on Vinted.
“I enjoy dressing up and don’t turn down invitations now as I feel so much more confident with my new body.”
