But it was the masses who were cringing at home at the unusual spectacle.
A sea of orange and black shirts, facing the away section, had their arms in the air, curling their fingers into claws.
Eager fans rushed to social media to comment on the odd celebration.
One X user wrote: “That has to be the worst celebration I’ve ever seen mind.”
Another said: “This is cringe! Very MSL !! We’d be laughing at the Americans if they did this!”
A third quipped: “Glad they’re winning but that is pure cringe.”
Someone else added: “Man United fans must be feeling like they’ve walked into a bad dream.
“Hull pulling a fast one on them in the first half? That’s gotta sting!”
But there was cause to celebrate for the East Yorkshire outfit as it was since a 7-1 home defeat to Tottenham in 2017.
