Manchester United legend, Gary Neville, has said that he loves Arsenal striker Gabriel Jesus to pieces.
Neville said this after Manchester United’s Premier League 6-3 defeat to Manchester City on Sunday at Etihad.
Speaking on The Gary Neville podcast after the match, the former defender said Jesus has been brilliant for Arsenal since he joined the North London club from Manchester City this summer.
“When you spoke about this Manchester City team last season, and what it was missing, I don’t know if it was [Jamie] Carragher mentioned on Twitter said if Gabriel Jesus was playing for Manchester City how he is for Arsenal, would City have signed Haaland?” Neville said.
“Gabriel Jesus has been brilliant and I love him to pieces, I loved him when he was here and now at Arsenal, but this is a different stratosphere of player – that is not a criticism of Jesus – this is a Zidane, the Brazilian Ronaldo, the Portuguese Ronaldo, those types of players who I played against throughout my career that I thought was another level, that is what we are seeing here. Something that is just right up there.”
Jesus has scored five Premier League goals for the Gunners so far this season.
The Brazilian international was on target over the weekend as Mikel Arteta’s side defeated their London rival Tottenham Hotspur 3-1.
