Barton was found guilty of six counts of sending grossly offensive electronic communications intended to cause distress.

The former footballer made a controversial comparison between pundits Aluko and Lucy Ward to Fred and Rose West.

Aluko managed to set aside the turmoil of the previous week to fully appreciate her induction, which has left her feeling "honored."

She stated, "There is always good news around the corner, and to come out of that last week, a challenging week that ended positively, and to be here now being recognized, I am very happy and very pleased."

“It demonstrates that you will face difficult situations in life, but they shape you. You emerge from them, and people recognize you for how you stood firm and upheld your principles and values.”

She continued, “I feel honored. This is significant recognition for my journey, and I want to continue to honor it.”

Aluko's career spanned an impressive 19 years, beginning when she scored on her debut at just 14 years old.

After developing her skills at Birmingham and winning the Young Player of the Year award in 2003, Aluko moved to Chelsea, where she scored vital goals that contributed to their Women's Premier League victory.

In 2007, she moved to Chelsea for the first of two stints with the club, before heading to the United States a year later to play for St. Louis Athletica, Atlanta Beat, and Sky Blue FC.

Aluko returned to Birmingham City in 2012, ending their 44-year wait for a major trophy by winning the FA Women’s Cup against Chelsea.

She rejoined Chelsea in 2012 and claimed two WSL titles in the 2015 (initially within a single year) and 2017-18 seasons, alongside two FA Cups and the WSL golden boot in 2016.
