The Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdulrosheed Adewale Akanbi has described the death of business mogul, Alhaji Aminu Alhassan Dantata, as a monumental loss to Nigeria.
This statement is contained in a condolence message by Oba Akanbi which was issued by Alli Ibrahim, his spokesperson on Saturday.
Oba Akanbi also described the late business magnate as a man who combined business prowess with administrative proficiency and who also handed same over to his children.
Describing him as a rallying point, the Osun monarch also described him as a detribalised Nigerian who detested preferential treatment.
The statement reads, “I commiserate with the Dantata dynasty over the death of their Patriarch, Alhaji Aminu Alhassan Dantata, who passed away at 94.
“As a father to the nation and a national asset, his demise is a monumental loss to Nigeria at large.
“As a national asset Combining business prowess with administrative proficiency is a rare attribute but found in Dantata. He sustained the business excellence of the dynasty and handed same over to his children.
“Aminu Dantata was a devoted Muslim who valued honesty, truthfulness and Godliness.
“He was a rallying point. He was a detribalized Nigerian who detested preferential treatment. My interaction with him convinced me that, practically, Nigeria’s unity is visible. He committed himself sustaining the strength in Nigeria’s diversity.
“I pray to God to forgive his forthcoming and grant him Aljanah Firdaus. Your soul shall rest in peace.”;
DAILY POST had earlier reported that the prominent Kano business magnate and philanthropist, Aminu Dantata died at age of 94 years.
His death was confirmed on Saturday via a Facebook post by his Principal Private Secretary, Mustapha Abdullahi Junaid.
