A WOMAN has opened up about the earth-shattering moment she discovered her dad had brutally murdered her mum and her sister.
Brave Michelle recalled how her father, Anthony Marcus, had spoken to her on the phone while she was at work asking her to come home to the scene.

The horrific event took place in June 2014, with Anthony later being charged with two counts of first-degree murder, after found the bodies of Sun Marcus, 50, and Samantha Marcus, 17, dead inside their home in Waukegan, .
In an interview on the We’re All Insane YouTube account, which has 629,000 subscribers, Michelle, who was 27 at the time, said: “My dad murdered my mum and my sister while I was at work.
“That is when I got a call, a text from my dad. I called and I said, ‘hey, what’s up?’
“And he goes, ‘come home now’.”
Michelle shared how she had been panicking and texting her fiance asking if he could get to the house while she got away from work.
She added: “I didn’t know if it was my dad was having another heart issue, but something was wrong all of a sudden.”
Both Sun and daughter Samantha, who used a wheelchair, had been strangled by Anthony – and the family’s dog was also found dead in the home.
Michelle continued: “I think my dad panicked and decided to call 911. He told them what he did, and he said, ‘I plan on killing myself.’
“A cop got there, and my dad’s sitting in our basement, and he had slit his wrists.
“And the bodies were downstairs as well, in the basement.”
Michelle said her fiance arrived first, and her father had already been taken away by the police.
She explained: “By the time he got there, there was already a crowd. The crime scene tape was up and around my house.
“He said he must have missed my dad by about 10 minutes, being escorted out in cuffs.”
Michelle later discovered her father had left a note on the doorstep which was written for “Michelle”.
The note read: “I’m sorry your dad is a failure in everything.”

Michelle shared how many people have asked her if her Navy veteran father – who met his wife in Korea – was abusive growing up.
She shared: “The answer is no. This was absolutely shocking to anybody’s nervous system, I’m sure.
“I had strict parents, I guess, in terms of parents, but they also weren’t strict.
“I guess the main point of that, too, is to tell everybody that there really weren’t any, I guess you could say, red flags. No, there’s none. We had a normal life.”
Despite her claiming she had a fairly standard upbringing, Michelle shared how her dad started to “spiral” after quitting his job just before the incident as he “couldn’t take it anymore.”
Michelle said: “He had no backup and I think that’s when the spiraling started.
“So my sister at that time was 17 and by that point she was fully wheelchair bound. So he’s like, ‘I have a child who has medical needs.’”
HER DAD’S UNUSUAL QUESTION
Michelle recalled how she had to work on Sunday June 14, 2014 – the day of the murders – and her dad had asked her an unusual question.
She added: “I do remember the only weird thing is my dad was asking me about , like ‘how much do you make? Are you able to pay your own ?’
“And I think he was trying to see if I could financially help the house, but I remember that question was weird.
“But I didn’t think much of it because I mean he just quit his job.”
Michelle, her mum and her sister went to church as usual, and then she went to work in her role as a shift manager at a store.
When her dad called her urgently requesting she come home, she initially thought it was something to do with his or her mum’s.
There really weren’t any, I guess you could say, red flags

She found cover at work and headed home, but her fiance arrived at the crime scene first and discovered what had happened.
The police told him to tell Michelle to meet them at the police station instead, and they initially asked her some questions about her father.
She shared: “They wrote down some of the notes and then he finally goes still like it’s like a movie in my brain and he goes, ‘I’m so sorry.
“‘Your mum and sister are dead and we have your father in custody.
“‘We have every reason to believe he did this.’
“All I remember was screaming because what do you do?”
THE PAINFUL AFTERMATH
Michelle said that she didn’t see her dad in person for about a year, but she did send him a letter a couple of months after the murder.
She said she’s never been given a reason as to why he committed the horrific crime, and shared: “No. I’ve had to work on that one.
“And I’ve kind of come to the decision that I don’t think I want to know why, but I don’t it’s not going to change anything to know why.
“He says he doesn’t really remember that day.”
The brave daughter also said she is commonly asked if people think her father called her home to “finish the job.”
She continued: “I don’t have an answer. I don’t know. None of us know, right?
“We’re all leaning towards no, but even to this day, he says he doesn’t know.”
