Champions League: 5 matches we could see shock results in final group matches

The final group fixtures in the Champions League will be played this midweek across Europe.

Ahead of these games, at least 12 clubs have booked their spots in the knockout stages.

With four places up for grabs, we could see some exhilarating matches on Tuesday and Wednesday.

But which ones could we see possible upsets?

1. FC Copenhagen vs Galatasaray (Group A): This is the game that is likely to decide which team finishes in second place behind Bayern Munich. It is also a game that will make Manchester United fans nervous. Although Galatasaray are favourites, you cannot comfortably rule Copenhagen out, as they have already pulled off some shock results and are playing at home too.

2. Man Utd vs Bayern Munich (Group A): If United want to stand a chance of playing in the Round of 16, they have to defeat Bayern Munich. It’s that simple. However, even Old Trafford has not been the best hunting ground for the Red Devils. But Bayern have not been great either, as they were thrashed 5-1 by Frankfurt just last weekend. So Erik ten Hag’s men can record the victory they need and hope other results go their way.

3. PSV vs Arsenal (Group B): This is a dead rubber in every sense of it. From the last Game Week, Arsenal were confirmed as group winners and PSV as runners-up. So this is essentially to fulfill all righteousness. Mikel Arteta has included some academy players in his squad for this time, and he wouldn’t complain if they lose in Eindhoven, which is a real possibility.

4. Borussia Dortmund vs PSG (Group F): PSG is the most likely team to qualify as runners-up in this group. It has its fate in its own hands, and if the French champion wins its away game against Dortmund, it will join the Germans in the knockouts as group-topper. But winning at the Signal Iduna Park will not be a walk in the park.

5. Antwerp vs Barcelona (Group H): Xavi has flown out for this game without at least eight Barcelona senior players. Robert Lewandowski, Frenkie de Jong, Ilkay Gündogan and Ronald Araújo will all be rested for the match, with qualification to the round of 16 already guaranteed. A weakened Barca side could see the hosts claim a victory.
