THREE 14-year-old schoolboys were reportedly left fleeing for their lives after a car sped towards them on a pavement in a “religiously aggravated assault”.
A car reportedly drove towards the group of Jewish teenagers on Holders Hill Road in Barnet, London, on April 20, according to cops.
The terrified pupils were understood to have been waiting to cross the road close to their school moments before the horrifying incident.
As they scrambled to move out of the way, the driver then manoeuvred his vehicle back onto the road and towards the A406.
Cops said that no arrests have been made at this stage and enquiries are ongoing.
The Met Police confirmed the incident was being “being treated as a religiously aggravated assault”.
The force are appealing for any witnesses or dashcam footage from the area at the time.
A Met spokesperson said: “We are investigating reports a car drove towards three 14-year-old boys on Holders Hill Road, Barnet on Monday, 20 April.
“While enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances, this is currently being treated as a religiously aggravated assault.
“It was reported a car had mounted the kerb near where the boys were standing, they moved out of the way and there were no reported injuries.
“We remain in close contact with the nearby school.
“At this stage, no arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing.
“Anyone with information is asked to contact police, providing the reference 2017/24APR.”
