Victims have been so badly burnt that forensic experts have been forced to conduct DNA testing to identify them.

Andalucia’s High Court of Justice confirmed that the victims include eight women and five men, all adults.

They are citizens of Britain, Belgium, the United States, France and Spain.

The wildfires started on July 9 in Los Gallardos before spreading rapidly to the village of Bedar.

At times the flames spread at speeds of nearly 60 miles a minute.

The inferno has burned down 17,000 acres of land – an area roughly the size of Leicester.
