Fear Street Trilogy release date, cast, synopsis, trailer and more

The indulgent summer haze isn’t complete without a little horror, right? What’s a summer without the chilling prospect of a new scream-worthy debut in the genre? Netflix is gearing up for their own fear-fueled season with the release of the Fear Street trilogy.

The movies based on the book series by R.L. Stine will take viewers to the town of Shadyside where things aren’t quite right in town. In fact, the town hasn’t been right for centuries but it seems even more terrifying events are beginning to rear their ugly heads.

When Fear Street was first announced, Collider reported sources were saying the series leads Kiana Madeira and Olivia Welch would be playing gay teenagers “trying to navigate their rocky relationship when they’re targeted by the crazy horrors of their small town, Shadyside.”

As both actresses are reported to be playing two different characters, presumably their relationship in the ’90s and in the 1600s will parallel each other. While these initial plot details have yet to be confirmed, it does have our interest peaked.

As Fear Street is a film series, the movies will have a staggered release a week apart. They will also take place in three different time periods as the mystery of what’s happening in Shadyside stretches across centuries.
