A Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Rivers State, Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, has asked governors in the South-East to clearly reject and ask for the quick removal of a new version of a book called ‘Living History For Junior Secondary School 1 students in the country.’

The party Chief criticized the Minister of Education, Dr Morufu Alausa, for the approval and publication of the book, which he described as “divisive, full of deceit” and depicted age long hatred for the Igbo race.

After seeing a viral video about the content of a book written by J.M. Itsekuke, the APC chieftain questioned why a sensible Nigerian, unless they were an ethnic nationalist, would write a book discussing Nigeria’s history without highlighting the Igbo people as a key ethnic group in the nation.

“I found out that this divided, evil, and misleading version of the book for JSS1 students is even listed in the National Library of Nigeria, and yet we have Governors in the South-East. Eze queries.

“How could the South-East Governors remain silent about this national hatred and shame, which is intentionally promoted by President Bola Tinubu’s APC government?

“While condemning the author for painstakingly displaying a high level of hatred towards the Igbos and ignorance by deliberately omitting the Igbo ethnic group in his biased piece of garbage, Eze called for the arrest and prosecution of the author, J.M Itsekuke.

“I condemn both the author and the Minister of Education for approving and starting this foolish journey of hatred called ‘Living History’ of Nigeria without mentioning the third major tribe in Nigeria.

“That book is a pointless and meaningless attempt, created just to anger the Igbo people; it needs to be taken off the market right away. At this point, I demand the removal of the Education Minister, Dr Morufu Alausa, or else this will be counted as a policy statement by this administration to eradicate the Igbos from Nigeria’s history,” Eze said.

“I’m not surprised that such extreme wickedness and strong hatred toward the Igbos can come back during President Tinubu’s time, especially since he doesn’t seem to care about the difficulties the Igbos are facing under his leadership,” Eze said.

He added that the Tinubu administration’s policy plans are mostly against the Igbo people, which according to him, has become obvious through the book.

The politician and media chief, urged the South-East Governors to set aside politics and rise to the challenge by strongly demanding the arrest and prosecution of the author of that book.

He also said the Education Minister has lost his moral standing to stay in his job because he stayed quiet and agreed with a bad and shameful history book.
