THE World Matchplay is currently underway - and 32 of the world’s best are battling it out in Blackpool for nine thrilling days by the seaside.
Reigning champion was hoping to join Rod Harrington, and by becoming only the fourth player in history to retain the iconic trophy.

However, Cool Hand went crashing out of the competition at the hands of Gian van Veen.
World Champion is now the favourite and is looking to add to the five Major titles he has already won at the age of 18.
The Nuke endured a disappointing debut last year after he was knocked out in the first round by Van Gerwen.
Littler will be hoping for a much-improved campaign at the Winter Gardens as he eyes the sport’s second-biggest ranking title.
And he is being joined in Blackpool by the 14 other stars in the PDC’s top 16, plus 16 representatives from the ProTour.
