Super Eagles forward, Victor Osimhen, has shed light on the bonus dispute between the team and the Nigeria Football Federation.
As a reminder, the Super Eagles declined to train on Tuesday as a protest against the non-payment of their overdue bonuses and allowances.
However, the players returned to training on Wednesday after the matter was resolved.
Commenting on the situation after Nigeria's 4-1 victory over Gabon in the World Cup qualifying playoff on Thursday, Osimhen emphasized that certain issues need to be addressed.
The Galatasaray striker commended the prompt intervention of NFF President Ibrahim Gusau, who stepped in to resolve the players’ concerns prior to the Gabon match.
“There are some issues that need to be addressed. I must give credit to the NFF president; he quickly came into the situation and got it sorted, which is commendable,” Osimhen told ESPN UK.
“Now that we have won the game, everything is resolved. We will return to our hotel and see if we can finalize everything.”
Osimhen hopes to lead Nigeria to victory in their next match against Gabon on Sunday.
