LOCALS in the world’s largest nudist resort say it has been overrun by swingers who revel in grim open sex sessions.

Loaded with hotels, apartment buildings, villas and a campsite, the hosts up to 40,000 guests in peak season.

– couples who swap their partners with others – now make up a majority of the population, insiders say.

What was once simply a clothes-free holiday spot has morphed into something more hedonistic – with newer “lifestyle visitors” now engaging in sex acts along a stretch of beach where anything goes.

Barbara, a British woman who lived in the village with her husband, now stays only during the summer months.

She told The Sun: “Since we first started coming to the village around 30 years ago, the clientele has changed massively.”

The big shift came when “international swingers” were introduced to the village.

Barbara said: “It’s made the place far more exclusive, creating a clear separation between the original naturist crowd and the new generation of lifestyle visitors.”

Barbara runs a swinging app called SpicyMatch that connects people and hosts events that pack out the village’s hotels.

She estimates the naturist to swinger ratio is now about 60 to 40 per cent.

The streets have long been filled with tourists roaming the supermarkets, hair salons, clothes and fetish shops.

But much more shocking are the open sex sessions at the Bay of Pigs beach.

Describing a typical day there, reporter William J. Furney said: “A woman with long, grey hair lay flat on her back, a portly man on top of her.

“The sight of the two copulating triggered an immediate, almost frenzied reaction among equally naked men nearby who appeared to be on the constant lookout for such action.

“Dozens hotfooted it to the couple and stood almost shoulder to shoulder while touching her and pleasuring themselves.

“Families with small children strolled by at the water’s edge, some stopping to look in puzzlement at the gathering before moving on.

“Oblivious, the amorous couple continued, at one point the man grabbed the woman’s throat and squeezed as she looked around at her admiring audience.”

Other raunchy happenings included “two large, elderly men having sex” and “several men pleasuring themselves as they looked at two young, naked women beside them who were sunbathing naked”.

Barbara says she no longer visits the beach because “it’s not my preference”.

She added that the police control the beach from a control tower

“Both security and lifeguards and police are in the tower during the summer months, all day long,” she said.

Amid accounts of similar activity in the village, notably at night, signs along the streets warn against “sexual exhibitionism”.

Violators risk a year in prison and a €15,000 fine.

Conflicts between nudists and swingers have been well documented through the years.

“Nudist mullahs” were “at war” with the swingers, The Times reported in 2008.

Even the police got involved after three swingers clubs were burned down.

“The normally peaceful Cap d’Agde, a magnet for nudists in the south of France, has been plunged into anxiety,” the report said.

“Investigators suspect ‘fundamentalist’ naturists of harbouring a grudge against the échangistes, or swingers, who are drawn to the town by the promise of sex.”

But according to Barbara, those heated days are long gone, and peace has returned to the village.

“I don’t see any tension,” she said, insisting that naturists and swingers now “live in harmony”.

She said each does their own thing, not visiting the same venues, and that “I have friends from both (groups) and they get along perfectly”.

The Naturist Village has experienced a recent explosion of popularity, according to local author and property agent Victoire Baume.

“It [has become] known all over the world and it keeps growing”, she said.

She said that during the pandemic, when local authorities said up to 7,000 people in the village tested positive for Covid in just one day, “something unusual happened”.

The beaches were not empty because the village “didn’t die”.

She said: “It resisted, and it was so fun and warming. You meet people from everywhere in the world: USA, New Zealand, South Africa, even China. Middle Eastern countries too – Qatar – and many more.”
