Now, it has been revealed that a victim of the Rochdale grooming gang has been provided with additional security at her home, reports The Times .

and said she had been plied with vodka and cigarettes before being raped “continuously” by up to 40 men.

Officers from Greater Manchester are now reportedly treating her as a “high risk victim”.

The force have given her an “urgent response marker” which allows rapid deployment to her home following Ahmed’s release on Thursday.

Last week, Ruby – who is now 32 – met senior officers who were told she “does not feel safe with Ahmed in the community”.

She has also been provided with an app on her phone which she can use to alert police should she feel threatened or in danger.

The Sun previously reported how to be released and a “high risk” to children before he was freed from .

The former taxi driver, who forced his victims to call him “Daddy”, will now be heavily monitored by the authorities.

Ruby had already been forced to come face-to-face with one of her attackers while in a local shop after he was released from jail halfway through his sentence – but the victim was not informed.

Maggie Oliver resigned from her role as detective constable with GMP in 2012 after bringing the failure of authorities to light.

She said that she met with GMP last week to ensure Ruby had security in place at her home in Rochdale as “none of that was done for her”.

“She’s been set up now for her safety. She’s in a mess. She’s fearful, and rightly so. She’s been threatened at gunpoint, her and Amber, and told not to go to the police. That man was never prosecuted,” she said.

“Amber”, not her real name, was raped and sexually exploited by Ahmed.

She said in a statement: “I am absolutely furious that no one contacted me to tell me that Shabir Ahmed was going to be released – not the Prison Service, not Victim Liaison, no one.”

It is understood that other victims have seen their security stepped up after Ahmed’s release but Oliver says many had not been told he had been freed.

Meanwhile, some have also told The Sunday Times that they “have no idea” where they’re abusers live and had not been in touch with authorities for years.

Victims of the paedophile ring, including Ruby, were also after he was released from prison.

However, due to a loophole in the Act 1971, Ahmed is set to stay in the country despite having his British citizenship removed.

The Act forbids the removal of a small group of citizens who arrived in the UK more than 50 years ago.

Home Secretary, , is planning to scrap the legal loophole stopping Ahmed from being deported.

Meanwhile, the government is said to be considering or withholding foreign aid to force Pakistan to take back Ahmed.

But The Telegraph reports that Ahmed cannot be deported after he renounced his Pakistani citizenship.

As a result, Pakistani officials are refusing to have him returned to their country, claiming he is no longer a citizen.

The leader of the paedophile gang was jailed for 22 years in 2012 after being convicted of two counts of rape, one sex assault, trafficking and conspiracy to engage in sexual activity with a child.

He plied girls as young as 13 with drink and before abusing them with eight of his friends.

During his trial, he exposed his naked torso in the dock and threw a clump of chest on the floor, saying of one victim: “She would have seen this.”

Following his release, he will now be housed in a bail hostel in the north of England, costing the taxpayer an estimated £120 a night.
