The Taraba State Judicial Service Commission (TSJC) has approved the promotion of 535 employees.

In addition to the promotions, the commission announced several senior appointments and demoted two officers due to disciplinary issues.

This information was released in a statement on Sunday in Jalingo by the Secretary to the Commission, Hajia Talatu Abubakar, following the commission’s 125th meeting, which was chaired by the Chief Judge of Taraba State, Justice Joel Agya.

The statement indicated that the commission unanimously accepted the report from its Promotion Sub-Committee and sanctioned the promotion of 535 employees across various levels within the Taraba State Judiciary.

Regarding disciplinary matters, the commission took action against Assauten Abason, a Senior Magistrate II on Grade Level 13, by removing his judicial responsibilities and demoting him to the position of Senior Registrar on Grade Level 10, effective from December 19, 2025. He has also been reassigned to the High Court Headquarters for a period of two years.

Another officer, William Jakwanti, was demoted from Registrar I on Grade Level 9 to Assistant Registrar on Grade Level 7. The commission also ordered his recall to headquarters and instructed him to repay the amount of N40,000 to an individual named Musa Audu.
