The Norwegian had previously managed from 2018, when he came in as caretaker manager, to 2021, when he was sacked.

Solskjaer, 52, succeeded in the dugout in December 2018, and he landed the job on a full-time basis after winning 14 of his 19 games at the helm.

Mourinho now manages , and the two former United bosses went head-to-head last weekend at Fener’s Sukru Saracoglu Stadium.

Solskjaer’s visitors snuck a 1-0 win against the run of play in a game that Fener dominated.

He guided the side to eight wins and a draw in his first 12 games, including a 2-1 win in the ferocious derby against in March.
