WITH Christmas party season in full swing, many of us will be heading to the salon to look our best.

But one woman has shared a warning with those looking to get their eyebrows .

Samantha Martina, from the UK, took to social media to share what happened after her eyebrow wax.

The blonde beauty had many in the past but this time it didn’t go quite to plan.

Samantha was left with painful red burns around both of her eyebrows.

And she shared the mistake she had made so you don’t have to suffer the same experience.

In the clip, she said: “This is literally what the healing process is looking like guys.

“It’s going like purple red which to me is obviously going to go into a scab and not really what I want near and going away but I have learned a lesson. definitely.”

Samantha had used Tretinoin on her face before the appointment which caused her skin to be more sensitive and burn when the wax was pulled off.

“So I am now on Day two of getting my eyebrows waxed and burnt because I am on tretinoin,” she explained.

Most beauticians will warn you not to use active ingredients like chemical exfoliants prior to waxing, but it seemed Samantha missed the memo.

She added: “I mean some people are saying it’s her fault for not asking me and then additionally, I should have told the person that I was on active .

“Oh my God, I literally can’t cope, right near Christmas as well.”

Samantha’s video was a great warning and reminder for those getting a wax done to make sure they can still go through with the treatment, especially with 76% of UK women going to the salon to get their facial removed.

The clip went viral on her account @ samanthamartinadewhurst with over 488k views and 6,400 likes and many hoped her burns would heal quickly while thanking her for the heads up.

One person wrote: “The brows do look good though, if that’s any consolation.”

Another commented: “THANK YOU for being brave and sharing this information openly. You are going to save so many from having the same experience.”

“OMG, you poor thing,” penned a third.

What to know about eyebrow waxing

While eyebrow waxing is a common beauty treatment, you still need to be careful and waxing experts reveal what you need to know before and after your appointment.

Days leading up to your appointment

• Avoid exfoliating (both acid exfoliators and scrubs) and anti-ageing products around the brow area for three days either side of your treatment

• Avoid fake tanning products on the face for three days either side of your treatment

After your appointment

• Avoid excessive rubbing or touching of the treated area for 24 hour

• Avoid contact with direct sunlight, and the use of sunbeds, saunas, steam rooms and swimming pools for 48 hours after your treatment

Meanwhile a fourth said: “My jaw hit the floor! Thank you for not directly blaming the beauty therapist, but they should have done a consultation to identify anything too.”

“I feel so bad for your brow tech as much as I feel for you! I wouldn’t have slept,” claimed a fifth.

Someone else added: “Oh my god I had no idea this was a thing! Thanks for sharing and I hope you heal quickly.”
