The Provost of the Osun State College of Health Technology, Ilesa, Dr. Lateef Olarewaju Raheem, has cautioned newly admitted students of the institution against engaging in cultism and other social vices as they embark on their academic journey.

Dr. Raheem delivered this message during the matriculation ceremony for students admitted to the College for the 2025/2026 academic session in Ilesa on Thursday.

He assured the newly matriculated students that the College would continue to provide a supportive environment for learning and professional development throughout their time at the institution.

He encouraged them to attend lectures consistently and actively participate in practical and clinical sessions aimed at enhancing their skills in various health-related fields.

He stated, “The institution is dedicated to providing opportunities for academic and professional advancement.”

He urged students to engage in academic clubs, professional associations, health outreach programs, and community development initiatives.

“Dear matriculating students, as you sign the matriculation register today, remember that you are beginning the first chapter of a new academic journey. Work diligently, stay focused, and let integrity guide your actions,” he emphasized.

The Deputy Provost, Margaret Oparinde, congratulated the students and their parents, highlighting that the College would continue to pursue academic excellence and maintain its reputation as a premier health training institution.

During the administration of the matriculation oath, the Registrar, Moshood Afolabi, alongside the Heads of Departments, advised the students to remain dedicated and committed throughout their studies.

The Dean of Students Affairs, Olayemi Rasaq Bello, urged the new students to behave responsibly within the community and foster positive relationships with their landlords and landladies.

Students were matriculated across various departments, including Pharmacy, Epidemiology and Disease Control, Medical Imaging and X-ray, Public Health, Community Health, Dispensing Opticianry, Environmental Technology, and Dental Therapy.
