The little animal walks right past Hayley and peers into her home from the garden.
It eventually becomes bored and wanders off, sniffing the ground as it goes.
A dog can be heard barking wildly at the masked mammal but it remains fearless and calmly strolls off.
After she spotted the animal Hayley called the RSPCA to report the bizarre sighting – fearing it could be at risk.
The call sparked a frantic hunt for the furry fugitive.
Soon all the local zoos and wildlife parks confirmed their raccoons were accounted for, leaving the origins of Hayley’s visitor a mystery.
The RSPCA branch warned locals in a post: “Please be aware that a raccoon has been spotted on the loose today in the Gwenapp area.
“We have contacted the relevant agencies and specialists.
“If anyone contains or safely secures the raccoon, please call the RSPCA national helpline on 0300 1234999.”
Later the creature was captured after it was discovered hiding out in a resident’s greenhouse.
RSPCA officers and a veterinary nurse responded and safely collected the animal.
The bizarre sighting left locals and authorities baffled.
Even after its capture it remains unclear where the escaped raccoon came from.

With zoos and wildlife parks claiming their raccoons were accounted for the recaptured fugitive is presumed to be someone’s pet.
The raccoon was found to be three times the weight it should be after it was captured.
The sighting of the furry critter marks the second time a wild animal has escaped in Cornwall in less than a week.
Hayley filmed the raccoon just days after a baby flamingo escaped from a nearby wildlife park.
The four-month-old flamingo that went missing from a St Ives wildlife park and was discovered earlier this week living in France.
Frankie the flamingo, who was born in July, escaped from a walled garden at Paradise Park during the morning of Sunday 2 November, despite having her feathers clipped on one of her wings.
