RITCHIE EDHOUSE insists darts is not “glamorous” as he lifted the lid on the reality behind life on tour.

The World No.27 admits most of his time is spent travelling and waiting around venues.

The former European champion says being on the road means you are constantly stuck eating junk food.

Edhouse reckons the bright lights and success on stage mask the less glamorous side of the .

He told DartsHopper: “Everyone thinks it’s glamorous, and we spend most of the time in train stations, cars or airports.

“It’s not glamorous sitting in a hotel room eating rubbish, to be fair. I wish it was glamorous.

“You get your little bits, but 90 percent of the time it is not glamorous at all.”

Edhouse struggled for form last season after making just ONE quarter-final on the ProTour.

The Essex thrower has also failed to win a match on the major stage this campaign, but has reached the last 16 of two events.

Edhouse is known as “Madhouse” on the oche, while his army of fans are dubbed the “Edhouse Ultras” and he has now revealed how he got his nickname.

He added: “It was a combination of a few mates. At one point, I was not great at maths. If I had 15 left, I would go 13 and double one.

“Just for 10, eight and double one. It rhymes with my name and it just stuck for a few years. I have had a few names since then.”
