“The team stormed a Fulani settlement in Wuro Guga, through Jen, suspected to be a meeting point for herders allegedly involved in attacks on Munga Dosso and Bandawa villages. These attacks, which occurred on three separate occasions, reportedly left about ten people dead.

Upon arrival, the suspects fled into the surrounding forest. A search of the area led to the recovery of six locally made firearms, including one locally made revolver pistol, one locally made revolver gun, four single-barrel guns, and nine cartridges,”;; the statement explained.

Additional two individuals were also confirmed to have been apprehended while attempting to burn down huts abandoned by Fulani residents displaced by the conflict.

Police say investigations are ongoing to track down the fleeing suspects and that efforts are being intensified to restore peace and normalcy in the area.

Elated by the development, the Commissioner of Police, Emmanuel Bretet, who praised the operatives for their swift and professional response, reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to maintaining law and order, while warning criminals and troublemakers that the full weight of the law will be brought upon them.
