For the first step, you will want to pull any visible weeds from your patio area as the hack isn’t “damaging” to plants.

Next, sweep the area to clear it of any “loose debris” before wetting the surface with your garden hose.

When the area is clear, you will want to apply your secret ingredients to your patio slabs.

The DIY pro recommended using sodium carbonate or bicarbonate of soda, which is available for 59p from Sainsbury’s, to tackle the moss.

Add a “light sprinkle” of the sodium carbonate to your patio, making sure you cover the entire surface.

Next, you will want add a “little bit of washing up liquid” and scrub the patio thoroughly using a stiff brush.

The expert recommended starting at one end of the tiles and working “your way around”, paying particular attention to any “bad” sections that need a little extra TLC.

Once you have finished scrubbing, leave the mixture for 48 hours to do the rest.

Finally, you will want to rinse down your patio if the rain hasn’t done this for you.
