The brawl appeared to be sparked by one man in a brightly coloured carnival costume throwing a drink following the event.

He is seen scuffling with other revellers and is initially pushed away before launching the beverage at other partygoers who were walking away.

Footage showed one woman reacted angrily as she chased after him with her flailing handbag.

Another man in a white tank top joins in the chase as shocked bystanders watched the mayhem unfold.

The first man then runs onto a train and stands on a seat as he tries to hide.

But he is followed by the man in a white tank top and eventually manages to corner the reveller who threw the drink.

He is then seen being pummelled by the larger man in the tank top as a crowd of people film through the tube windows.

As Europe ‘s biggest street festival, Notting Hill Carnival attracts throngs of revellers in brightly coloured festival costumes and features parades, steel bands and thumping sound systems.

The Carnival is one of the biggest events to take place in London, with millions of revellers celebrating  Caribbean  culture, while wearing incredible costumes.

Bands and floats representing the Caribbean, African and  Brazilian  diaspora can be spotted throughout the Notting Hill area in the largest celebration of its kind in Europe.

Attendees were in high spirits when the event began yesterday, with Maria James, 34, saying: “It feels like a piece of the Caribbean right here in London.”

James Lewis, 41, from  Birmingham , added: “It’s amazing to see so many cultures coming together.”

But cops arrested over 400 people at this year’s Notting Hill Carnival with two festivalgoers horrifically also stabbed at the event.

Police used advanced Live Facial Recognition (LFR) technology to monitor the festival this year.

The first of the two stabbings occurred in Powis Terrace, with the second taking place in Oxford Gardens.

Met Police  confirmed that 200 attendees were arrested on the first day of the festival, with 149 being taken into custody at the event and 51 being arrested on their way to the event.

The following day saw a total of 223 arrests, as of 7.45pm.

A total of 177 of those arrests took place at  the Carnival itself , with an additional 46 being made on the approaches to the event.

Matt Ward, the  policing  commander for Notting Hill Carnival this year, said: “This year we have proactively targeted those who have attempted to come to Carnival to cause harm to others.

“We have used live facial recognition, knife arches and our stop and search powers to identify and arrest more than 400 suspects.

“These arrests have prevented some of the serious violence we have seen at previous Carnivals.

“We thank the organisers and others who spoke out in the days and weeks ahead of the event to emphasise what Carnival stands for, to reject violence and to urge anyone planning to come for conflict or confrontation to stay at home

“All of this joint effort has helped to make this this year’s Carnival a safer event for all.”
