The Ibe-Ebidouwei of the Ijaw nation, Government Ekpemupolo, also known as Tompolo, has refuted social media claims linking him to a 21-day ultimatum directed at the Federal Government regarding the ongoing detention of IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu.

His media consultant, Dr. Paul Bebenimibo, issued this denial in a statement in Warri on Sunday.

The statement clarified that Tompolo did not create the purported publication and emphasized that he has no involvement in the matter concerning Nnamdi Kanu.

“High Chief Ekpemupolo has no connection to the situation regarding Nnamdi Kanu. This is clearly the work of Tompolo’s adversaries, who are attempting to undermine and discredit him due to his position against illegal oil operations in the Niger Delta region.

“This group of individuals has failed and will continue to fail because he will not waver in his commitment to completely eradicate illegal oil activities in the region.

“We want to reassure the Federal Government, led by our dynamic President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, that Tompolo stands with him and will continue to support the renewed agenda of his administration,” the statement concluded.

According to DAILY POST, human rights activist Omoyele Sowore recently led a protest in Abuja, demanding the immediate release of the detained IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu.

It is important to note that on Friday, the Federal High Court in Abuja postponed Kanu’s trial until Monday, October 27, to allow him to present his defense against the terrorism charges filed against him.
